Dear Virginia Tech community,
Welcome to a new academic year, Hokies!
As we begin a new academic year at Virginia Tech, there’s a renewed sense of energy across campus — new faces, new goals, and countless opportunities to connect, grow, and thrive together as a community. Whether you are returning to campus or joining us for the first time, welcome!
I am honored to serve as Virginia Tech’s Title IX coordinator. This role is a tremendous privilege, and I look forward to working alongside our incredible students, faculty, and staff to foster a campus culture rooted in respect, safety, and belonging.
At Virginia Tech, we believe that everyone deserves to live, work, and learn in an environment free from harassment and discrimination, including sexual violence. Upholding this belief is a community effort — and one that is supported by a robust network of campus resources designed to prevent, address, and respond to sex-based discrimination and harassment.
Here are just a few of the ways Virginia Tech is here to support you:
My commitment as Title IX coordinator is to ensure that all Hokies — no matter their role on campus — have the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed. I encourage you to reach out, ask questions, and engage in conversations that build a stronger, safer Virginia Tech.
Here’s to a bold and inspiring academic year ahead. Go Hokies!
Warmly,
Angela Catena
