Signature Travel Network has named Tasmania as one of the world’s top destinations to travel this year in its prestigious ‘Where to Go in 2026’ list.
The only Australian destination to make this year’s list, the recognition places Tasmania at the forefront of global travel conversations, including among Signature’s extensive network of luxury travel advisors in the United States, and globally.
The announcement was made at Signature’s 2025 Owners’ Meeting, an annual gathering of elite travel agency owners, executives, and industry partners.
“Tasmania is Australia’s hidden gem,” Signature Travel Network senior advisor, Ignacio Maza, said. “This island state just below Australia’s southeast mainland offers travellers an extraordinary mix – from dramatic landscapes and World Heritage-listed wilderness to world-class gastronomy, rare Australian wildlife like the Tasmanian devil, and a vibrant calendar of unique arts, food, and cultural events. Tasmania is authentic, distinctive, and brimming with discovery.”
Signature also praised Tasmania’s growing range of accommodations, from alpine cabins in the World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain to luxury stays, contemporary design hotels in Hobart, and OnBoard, an expedition catamaran exploring Tasmania’s remote Southwest.
“We know that U.S. travellers are increasingly seeking destinations that feel remote, authentic, and offer experiences unlike anywhere else,” Tourism Tasmania CEO, Sarah Clark, said. “Tasmania delivers all that and more.
“Tasmania is renowned for having stunning natural beauty, world-class food and wine, vibrant creative spirit, and warm, interesting people. From world-class wilderness walks, pristine beaches and bays, and coastal expeditions to some of the world’s best vineyards, whisky distilleries, artisan markets, and iconic museums – Tasmania offers drawcard experiences unlike anywhere else.”
“From the vibrant capital, Hobart, to regional gems like Launceston, Derby, Devonport, and Swansea, Tasmania invites travellers to slow down, explore deeper and connect with themselves and the world around them.
“We’re thrilled to see Signature Travel Network’s advisors and clients embracing what makes Tasmania so special, and we look forward to welcoming more visitors in 2026 and beyond.”
