ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) – Art lovers listen up!
The gallery opening day for the new Tar River Art Gallery in Rocky Mount is coming up this month and will be a celebration of the exhilarating new display of art by 40 area artists featuring more than 150 paintings, pictures, prints, sculptures, and artful creations. The opening reception is free to the public, with free adjacent parking. There will be music provided by cellist Jeff Hatley and light refreshments.
It is all happening Sunday, September 14th, from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at The Tar River Art Gallery which is in the right hall of the Dunn Center on the campus of N C Wesleyan University at 3400 North Wesleyan Blvd. in Rocky Mount.
The well-known Gravely Gallery, named in honor of Janice Gravely, is being expanded to include art works from over 40 area artists, talented in many genres of art, and appropriately named the Tar River Art Gallery.
The Tar River Gallery is open to the public free of charge, with free parking in front of the Dunn Center and in the adjacent northside parking area. Except for holidays, the Tar River Art Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
